The Light may be no more...

It seems that CBS may be canceling Guiding Light, the longest running soap opera on TV. This show has been around forever. It started as a radio serial in 1937, moved to TV in 1952, and now it looks like Guiding Light may be no more.

It would be one thing if the show wasn't good, but it is! Yeah, it's a little simpler in it's storytelling, but what it lacks in specticle, it makes up for in comedy and heart. GL is one of the few daytime shows that actually makes me crack up every time I watch it.

Still, it is the lowest rated soap (the early time slot isn't helping), and in these tough times, the fat will be cut. So, come September, one of the longest running TV shows ever may be no more. It kind of makes me sad, but at least I got to witness a small piece of a story that people have been enjoying for over 70 years.

If you guys want to help, try checking out Guiding Light. Check your local listings for times. You'd be surprised how enjoyable that show is.
